We had such a fun time in the Great Smoky Mountains!

Hiking with a 4.5 and 2yo while 5 months pregnant may have been a little ambitious 😅 but everybody did so great! Canan had zero problem getting back to his TN roots, the boys (all of them) were obsessed with seeing bears 🐻 on our hikes and the side of the road (which I was so surprised how easily and frequently we did!), and we even conquered Dollywood and Ober Gatlinburg for some mountain coasters and amusement park rides.

My takeaway: Gatlinburg is an excellent family vacation spot, with the sweet spot being for ages 6-12. It’d also be an awesome and easy spot to come with multiple families! We wouldn’t make it an annual trip like we do to 30A but can see ourselves coming back here in a few years with friends!

I did a lot of research on good hikes for young kids, and these were the ones we did and loved. Hit SAVE to reference later!
1. Laurel Falls (most popular hike in entire park. Get there early for parking. Saw bears here!)
2. Grotto Falls (my personal favorite. Can even walk behind the waterfall! Great hike before taking the Roaring Fork Motor Way scenic drive.)
3. Cades Cove loop. This is actually closed to cars on wednesdays, making it a perfect day to bike the 11mile loop instead!

Farmer’s Market Tips:
-Go Early, bring cash, shop seasonally, & don’t forget to walk up a block to Van’s Pastry shop! They have not only some of the best donuts around, but their english muffin toast is life changing!

Grand Rapids has such great brunch options.
Here’s my TOP 5:
-Real Food Cafe. You have not lived until you’ve had the corned beef hash! 😋
-SanChez. Mimosas, spicy bloody Mary’s, and the best chorizo empanadas 🥟
-Terra. No matter what time I come here, I alwaysssss order the Kale Caesar Salad 🥗
-Tupelo Honey. Mimosa flights, chicken & waffles 🧇
-Brown Butter Creperie. The cutest location with awesome sweet or savory crepes 🙌🏼
