Kindergarten, here we come! 📚 ✏️ 🍎

August has been a busy month, and extra special this year as Leo starts kindergarten at his new school. (hola, escuela!) We got to visit last night, meet his amazing teacher, decorate his locker, explore the hallways, and meet a few friends.

I’m sure other mamas and parents can relate-this month has been filled with checklists for back to school, including school supplies, classroom lists, bus routes, fall clothes, and health appraisals. August is also National Immunization Awareness Month, and the perfect time while grabbing those health appraisals for school to make sure you’re up to date on recommended vaccines. Vaccines are safe, effective, and help protect everyone in the classroom! Another fun weekend up north! We loved exploring Boyne with MiRCA and we look forward to this trip every year.

I recently had the opportunity to work with Pottery Barn Kids to showcase Sloane’s preppy neutral nursery (over on Pinterest, where you can still see pretty inspirational photos and you don’t have to dance or put up a kidney to have your posts seen…looking at you, Instagram! 😅) I love mixing prints, like gingham and floral, and it’s been so fun to play around with decorating a baby girl’s room after having two little boys first. So many of Pottery Barn Kids items can also be personalized or embroidered, making for great gifts for new mamas or baby showers.

Pottery Barn has been on my wish list to work with for yearrrrrrrs, and this little blog hustle is feeling motivated for a little revival.

A fun filled week Up North exploring old favorites and discovering new ones. Summertime in Northern Michigan alllllllmost makes me feel ok turning down the Denver transfer last month.

You just can't beat summertime in Michigan! Travel

You just can't beat summertime in Michigan! Traveling is one of our favorite activities as a family, and I'm so happy to be sharing experiences and creating memories with our kids in the Great Lakes state.

We feel comfortable and confident in traveling again, thanks to vaccines and being up to date with each of our kids' immunization schedules. Following the recommended immunization schedule protects infants and children like Leo, Warren, and Sloane, by providing immunity early in life. We've talked with our pediatrician (who was also my pediatrician growing up!) and feel we're making the best decision for our family and our community.

The harder choice? Our favorite summer beach town in Michigan! This week we're exploring several: Glen Arbor, Traverse City, Sutton's Bay, Frankfort, and Leland! Do you have a favorite? I'd love to hear!
