It has been quite a while since I have shared our home renovation, so today I’m taking you on a tour of our neutral baby boy nursery for Warren and the nautical nursery decor we opted to use.
You can see the makeovers of our boys’ nurseries in our former houses here. I chose to keep a number of things the same for this home too. I like the boys’ rooms to coordinate with the rest of the house, while also incorporating fun, colorful elements that are kid friendly. Like the rest of our home, the nursery is light and fresh, with mixes of blues, whites, and gold accents.
The nursery is on the smaller side, and we will change this room into an office as our family grows. Cody and I often talk about an addition over the garage where we can add two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. We will also expand the family room and add a mudroom and laundry room to the main floor. You may wonder why we wouldn’t just move to another house. but we truly love our neighborhood and can see ourselves here for a long time.
Warren’s Nautical Nursery Decor
For now, the neutral nursery is perfect for Warren and also one of my favorite rooms in the house. The paint color is First Star by Sherwin Williams. It is a beautiful color for a nursery, but could also work well in a powder room or office.
We added this closet system, which can be configured multiple ways. We added a drawer for keepsakes and are using baskets for shoes, blankets, and odds and ends.
Pehr Designs is one of my favorite brands for quality swaddles, crib sheets, and also where I found this rug. I love the navy dots in this room.
After Leo was born, I realized I never really utilized our rocking chair in the nursery. I’d often stand to rock, or nurse elsewhere in the house. When Warren was born, we decided to go with this fun swinging chair that I had my eye on for years. It is so fun and can be used both indoor and outdoor, so we will be able to use it in other ways as our family grows.
