It’s truly been the year of the tractor in our house, so it was fitting to throw Leo a construction theme 3rd birthday party! Leo loves tractors, cranes, & diggers and always points them out when we pass construction.
Stop the traffic, clear the road, Leo is turning 3 years old!
Throwing a construction theme birthday party was a lot of fun and very easy! There are a ton of great party decorations readily available on both Amazon and Target.
We rented a kids table and kids chairs from a local rental company for under $20 which worked perfectly for the set up. Each party guest had a place at the table with a construction hat with their name on it, a coloring book and crayons. I also sent them home with little gift boxes with stickers, fruit snacks, and mini trucks.
I loved the balloon arch! I bought this balloon arch kit from Amazon and it was really easy to put together, although time consuming. I would highly recommend roping in someone to help along with a hand pump for the balloons. This set had 165 balloons in it.
I opted for very kid friendly foods that were super easy. I spend a lot more time and effort into menu planning for dinner parties and holiday parties than I do for kids and rightly so: they like what they like and they’ll probably be playing more than they are eating! I used some of Leo’s trucks (washed, of course) for the food set up which turned out so cute.
The cake was incredible and from Costco! It was so easy to order and actually really delicious. I ordered a vanilla cake and asked to have LEO written on it. When I got home, I added the tractor and crushed oreos to make it look like it was at work.
Both the birthday boy and his younger brother had matching shirts for the construction theme, made by AKR Designs. They were such a fun added touch to the theme of the party! Leo has been asking to wear his shirt every day since.
I’m already thinking up themes for future birthday parties! Do you do a theme birthday for your kids? I’d love to hear what you’ve done!
