Welcome back to the House of Navy home tour!
I’ve already blogged about the transformation of our kitchen, laundry room, and sunroom, and today we’re covering the dining room! This room was one of the last we did, as it served as a hub for furniture, equipment, and work tools while we renovated. Fortunately, the dining room also needed the least amount of work! We kept the beautiful windows and wood ceiling detail as is, and just needed to paint the walls and ceiling.
Before:
I love having a full room designated for the dining room, rather than having it part of the kitchen. I love open floor plans, but there is something really cool about old homes with a formal dining area. We love hosting dinner parties here and game nights.
One major renovation we did in this room was opening up the entrance to the kitchen by a few more feet. It makes the space feel a lot bigger, and now you can see the living room from the kitchen island.
