The dining room is one of my favorite rooms in the house. I love that there is a formal room for it, rather than it being part of the kitchen.
We’ve hosted a few dinner parties and events at the house so far, and we always seem to congregate in this room. It’s central to the house-connecting the living room, office, kitchen, and hallway to the laundry room.

I wanted this room to feel light and airy and connect the look and feel from the surrounding rooms. The color is Wickham Gray. We loved the color so much, we painted the same color in the hallway/laundry room.
I found this amazing 8 x 11 rug at Home Goods for $299 and in the same trip, scooped up the two blue chairs on sale for $69 each! The Pottery Barn table and chairs were a gift from my Aunt.
Flatware: West Elm
Tablecloth: Home Goods
Dishes: Cynthia Rowley, Home Goods (White were found on clearance for $2, so I took all 16 of them. The blue plates and bowls came in sets of 4, $9.99 each)
My dad found this hutch for $35 and stripped, sanded, and refinished it, adding in the gold pulls and ornate carving details under the cupboards. This vintage punch bowl set (serves 12!) was found last month at a West Michigan antique shop in the neighborhood.
I’m currently searching for a unique chandelier to replace the ceiling fan.
Centerpiece arrangements: gifted by Bailey & James boutique in Rockford, MI at a blogger event.
